2. The candidate must successfully complete a final comprehensive examination in the student's field of concentration (does not apply to the M.A. degree in liberal studies, the M.F.A. degree in creative writing, the M.B.S. degree, or the M.P.A. degree in public policy and administration).

3. A writing requirement must be satisfied by either a master's thesis or demonstration to the faculty of the ability to write a creditable expository or critical essay. This may be fulfilled either as part of a regular course or seminar or in a special assignment designed for such purposes.

4. Two-thirds of the student's degree program in graduate-level coursework must be completed under the jurisdiction of the Graduate School-Camden.

5. No more than one-third of a student's program may consist of transferred graduate, graded coursework.

6. No more than three courses (typically 9 credits) with a grade of C or C+ are allowed in all courses taken at the Graduate School-Camden. Some programs allow fewer than 9 credits with a grade of C or C+.

7. No more than 6 credits of advanced Rutgers undergraduate coursework (at the 300 or 400 level) approved by the graduate program may be taken for graduate credit.

8. No undergraduate transfer credit will be accepted from any outside college or university.

Additional requirements for specific programs are noted in the Graduate School-Camden chapter.

All programs of study are subject to review by the dean of the Graduate School-Camden and to the approval of the candidate's program faculty.
