Admission to the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degree program is based on undergraduate (and
graduate, if applicable) transcripts; GRE scores (preferred, but LSAT or GMAT
scores may be accepted); three letters of recommendation (at least two should be from persons familiar with the applicant's work in an academic setting); a personal statement, including a statement of evidence of an ability to succeed in graduate-level quantitative methods courses; a résumé, and
a writing sample. To make an informed decision, before submitting an application, prospective students should review faculty areas of expertise to ensure a good fit with student interests, and to identify a potential dissertation adviser.
