Admission Requirements


Applicants for the graduate liberal studies program must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. They should have attained a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for the last 60 credits of undergraduate work. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are not required. In addition to an application form, prospective students must submit the following:

1. Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended

2. Two letters of recommendation (at least one should be from a former professor or someone who can attest to the applicant's academic abilities)*

3. A personal statement explaining reasons for applying to the program

4. A writing sample of approximately 5-10 pages, such as a research paper written for a college class or equivalent*

*If you no longer are in contact with any of your undergraduate professors or do not have copies of your undergraduate papers as writing samples, please contact the program director.

Applications for the fall semester should be submitted no later than August 15; for the spring semester, no later than December 15.
