School of Social Work 2013–2015 Professional Credit Courses (Nonmatriculated)

Professional Credit Courses (Nonmatriculated)

Professional credit courses consist of nondegree, graduate-level courses. These courses provide an excellent opportunity for individuals who may be considering the master's program in social work to explore introductory classes without committing to a matriculated program. The courses are equivalent to those offered during the first half of the master's program. Upon acceptance into the Rutgers master's program in social work, up to 18 credits may be applied toward your degree.

Please note:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university is the prerequisite for admission.
  • Taking professional credit courses in no way guarantees admission to the School of Social Work. Anyone interested in the master's program should apply online at http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu.

Courses

There are five required M.S.W. degree courses and several electives offered through the professional credit program. All courses are 3 credits. Please note: If you are accepted into the master's program, only one elective will be credited toward your degree.

Courses are offered at off-campus locations around the state. Classes are limited in size, and applications are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
