At the School of Public Health in New Brunswick and Newark
The M.P.H. in social work and public health prepares students to prevent, address, and resolve health problems at various levels, including the micro (individual/clinical), mezzo (family, organizational, or community), or macro (society or population) levels. Honing students' knowledge in urban health and social and behavioral sciences, graduates will become public health social workers that understand the intertwining individual, biological, social, economic, political, and environmental factors that critically influence treatment and health outcomes. This concentration is restricted to Master of Social Work (MSW)/MPH dual-degree students only.
Graduates are eligible to sit for the Certified in Public Health Exam.
