Mission and Vision for Doctor of Physical Therapy Program



Mission for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
The Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy, in alignment with the mission of The Rutgers School of Health Professions, graduates entry-level physical therapists who are prepared to engage in contemporary practice as movement specialists. The faculty and students embody the core values of the physical therapy profession and are committed to evidence-informed practice, education, scholarship, and service.

Vision for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program
The Vision of the Rutgers Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Science DPT Program is the education of entry-level physical therapists who will be leaders and collaborators in clinical practice, education, scholarship, and service. Graduates will be skilled movement specialists who use clinical and scientific evidence to achieve optimal client activities and participation to promote wellness and health equity in communities. The DPT program shall be an integral and valued component of RBHS, recognized as one of the nation's premier physical therapy academic programs.
