Program Description


The doctor of health informatics (D.H.I.) program emphasizes the use of informatics concepts, techniques, and implementations for applications in both clinical and public health care settings. It is a practice degree in the field of health informatics with a focus on the application of the available data that may be used to support executive decisions in the field of health care. The program curriculum provides ample opportunities to learn and practice use of state-of-the-art analytical techniques and industrial strength software for graduates to analyze, evaluate, and implement the next generation of health informatics systems and services. Overall, the doctor of health informatics degree program prepares individuals for informatics leadership positions such as CIOs, managers, directors, and university faculty. The D.H.I. program is offered as both completely on campus (Rutgers University, Piscataway campus) and as a completely online program using state-of-the-art learning technologies, course management systems, and videoconferencing sessions.
