Scholastic Standing

A student's scholastic standing, the basis for continuance in college, probation, honors, and graduation, is determined in part by the weighted average of all the grades earned in courses taken at Rutgers University-Newark and at the New Jersey Institute of Technology through the Exchange Registration Program that are applicable to the student's degree program. Students must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 or better to be in good scholastic standing. Other conditions that must be met to maintain good scholastic standing are noted on the pages below. For the purpose of scholastic standing, attendance during a Winter or a Summer Session is not counted as a semester of enrollment.
