Newark Undergraduate Catalog 2011–2013 College of Nursing Academic Policies and Procedures Leave of Absence

Leave of Absence

Students must complete a leave of absence form available from the Office of Student Services. The form must be submitted to the office prior to the beginning of the semester of the intended leave if the leave is granted.

A leave of absence may be granted to a full-time student if such a leave is for extenuating circumstances and seems educationally advisable. The academic record of the student will be considered in the review. An approved leave of absence guarantees that a student may reenter the College of Nursing when space permits. Upon return from a leave of absence, the student must meet the graduation requirements in effect for the class in which he or she will graduate.
