Undergraduate

Although students in the College of Nursing are covered for professional liability by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, the New Jersey Board of Nursing and the College of Nursing require additional insurance coverage. Each nursing student must purchase individual liability insurance with a minimum coverage of $1 million per single occurrence and $6 million aggregate. This insurance can be purchased from any vendor of choice, such as Nurses Service Organization (NSO). It will be the student's responsibility to maintain the liability insurance yearly throughout their tenure at the college. Only a copy of the liability insurance face sheet is to be submitted yearly to the Office for Student Affairs.

Graduate

All graduate students are required to have professional liability insurance and student nurse practitioner professional liability insurance before they begin clinical work.
