01:830:101 General Psychology (3) Survey of main areas of contemporary psychology.
01:830:200 Quantitative Methods in Psychology (4) Quantitative methods used in psychological research. Regular exercises required. One semester of college-level mathematics recommended.
01:830:201 Principles of Cognitive Science (3) Introduction to the field of human cognition, surveying methods, concepts, findings, and problems in perception, learning, memory, thinking, problem solving, psycholinguistics, and development. Prerequisite: 01:830:101.
01:830:210 Behavioral Data Analysis (1) Quantitative methods used in psychological research. Intended for students who have completed an introductory course in quantitative methods that included basic descriptive and inferential statistics, and correlation and regression, but did not include both single-factor and two-factor analysis of variance.
Special Notation: Students who complete the course with a grade of C or better will be considered to have met the quantitative methods requirement for the major in psychology. Prerequisite: Permission of psychology adviser. May not receive credit for both 01:830:200 and 210.
01:830:271 Principles of Developmental Psychology (3) Survey of life-span human development covering prenatal, infant, child, adolescent, and adult periods.

01:830:272 Drugs and Human Behavior (3) Drug classification; contexts of drug usage; effects of various drugs; analysis of drug action in the central nervous system; aspects of "human nature" revealed by drug usage. Prerequisite: 01:830:101.
01:830:300 Research Methods in Psychology (3) Logic and design of behavioral experiments; analysis and interpretation of data;  and writing of formal laboratory reports. Prerequisites: 01:830:101, 200. Fulfills laboratory course requirement and a psychology elective requirement under F2005 version of major requirements.
01:830:301 Sensation and Perception (3) Principles of sensory processes in vision, audition, and other modalities, and of the perception of objects and events. Prerequisite: 01:830:101.

01:830:307 Perception in Cognitive Science (3) Approaches to visual perception that emphasize reasoning about stimulus properties (shading, texture, lines, movement, etc.) that give information about the structure of the environment. Prerequisite: 01:830:101.
01:830:310 Neuropsychology (3) Survey of brain damage and plasticity, brain trauma and disease, neuropsychological assessment and testing, cognitive rehabilitation, and current controversies.  Provides a basic understanding of brain structure and function along with an appreciation of clinical perspectives. Prerequisite: 01:830:101.
01:830:311 Conditioning and Learning (3) Topics include habituation, sensitization, associative learning, and rule and category learning. Data derived from animal and human research. Prerequisite: 01:830:101.

01:830:400 Advanced Statistical Methods in Psychology (3) Expands on the concepts and computations covered in the Quantitative Methods in Psychology (01:830:200). New topics will include additional aspects of association, power analysis, nonparametric procedures, and repeated measures t- and F-tests. While conceptual understanding will be central, students will also learn computation using SPSS software. Prerequisite: Majors only and a grade of B+ or better in 01:830:200, or permission of the instructor.
