Free Electives. The additional credits needed to bring
the total to the minimum of 120 credits are taken in free electives.
(Physical education courses may not be used toward degree credit.)
Maximum Course Load in a Single Subject. Without special permission, no student may offer more than 48 credits (or 16 courses) in a single subject.
Residency. Thirty
credits, including at least 12 credits in the major subject (or more if
specified by the major department) and other courses the major
department may prescribe, must be taken in New Brunswick as a
matriculated student in University College, and 30 of the last 42
credits must be completed at the Rutgers-New Brunswick/ Piscataway
campus as a regularly enrolled University College degree candidate.
Cumulative Grade-Point Average. Students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 (letter equivalent C).
