Mason Gross School of the Arts 2022-2024 Graduate Programs in Art and Design Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts Program Artistic Dismissal

Artistic Dismissal

An unsatisfactory review may result in probation and may possibly be followed by artistic dismissal from the school's Department of Art and Design. This decision may be made independently of a student's grades in courses in which they may be enrolled. A student will be advised in writing why they are put on artistic probation, what needs to be done to correct it, and the deadline by which the student must remedy this situation. In the case of artistic dismissal, the student may appeal to the Mason Gross School of the Arts dean of students. Not passing a review may result in the withdrawal of a teaching position.
