Angela V. Baker

Assistant Dean for the Office of Career Planning and Professional  Development.  Dean Baker graduated with honors from Rutgers  College in New Brunswick in 1982 and from Rutgers' School of Law-Camden in 1985. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Mary Ellen Talbott, J.S.C., and for three years as an assistant public advocate representing clients involuntarily committed to mental hospitals. She taught legal research and writing for several years in the 1990s and was the director of the legal research and writing and academic support programs. She then practiced law in a private firm for five years, focusing on criminal defense and appeals. She returned to teach at the law school in 2002, and was appointed assistant dean in 2005.  In this position, she helps students discover the best legal posts for them by exploring fields through internships, summer positions, and externships. She also assists them in planning their careers so that they can reach their ultimate goals.
