Applications are due May 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester. The graduate admissions website (http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu) provides information on applications and the admissions process. Applicants to the program must submit the following:

  1. Transcript(s) showing completion of an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum GPA of 3.0. An undergraduate course in statistics is required and an undergraduate social science research methodology course is recommended. Outstanding students who lack such backgrounds are encouraged to apply and to contact the program director to discuss means for fulfilling this requirement. Prior coursework or experience in criminal justice is also recommended.
  2. Scores from the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Applicants who received their baccalaureate degree 10 or more years prior to application or who have worked in the field of criminal justice for ten or more years are not required to submit GRE results. Please contact the program director for a waiver.
  3. Three letters of recommendation.
  4. A statement about the applicant's personal and professional goals and how this program will help fulfill them.
