Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace

The four-course (12-credit) Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate program offered by Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) is designed to give students the tools to help organizations (including public and nonprofit organizations) successfully navigate the challenges and opportunities associated with an increasingly diverse workforce. Rutgers SPAA has partnered with SMLR so that graduate students may count up to two of SPAA's MPA courses toward this certificate. Required courses include: Employment Law 38:578:566 taken from the Human Resource Management Department (classroom, not open to nondegree students) or 37:575:315 taken from the Labor Studies and Employment Relations Department (online or classroom) and one of two broad classes about diversity: 38:578:510 The Inclusive Workplace (online) or 38:578:551 Seminar in Minorities and Work (classroom). SPAA students may count the following two courses from their program as electives: 20:834:523 Human Resource Management, and 20:834:507 Leadership and Diversity
