Credit Load

To be considered a full-time student, an individual must carry a minimum of 12 credits per term. Students may carry between 1 and 19 credits, but not more than 19 credits per term without written permission from the dean of student affairs office. For a credit overload, a student must meet all of the following standards:

    English 101 and 102 or 121 and 122 completed
    Math proficiency completed 
    Major declared with an academic department 
    Successful completion of 24 Rutgers-Newark credits 
    Cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher
