Change of Program

Students who wish to change their field of study within the Graduate School-Newark (from Biology-to-Chemistry, for example) must apply to the graduate program in which they intend to pursue their degree through the Graduate Admission website ( http://gradstudy.rutgers.edu). Students should be mindful of the program application deadlines, as these vary from program-to-program.

For those students who seek to change their degree designation within the same program (from the PhD in Psychology to the Masters in Psychology), students must seek the advisement of their graduate program director and approval from the graduate program. Upon approval, the graduate program must communicate the degree designation change, in writing, to the Office of the Dean.
