Interdisciplinary Requirement


Incoming first-year students are required to complete 07:557:151, Mason Gross Interplay. Interplay is a 1-credit interdisciplinary course (graded P/NC) designed to introduce students to the artistic disciplines represented at Mason Gross, foster relationships between and within departments, and help students develop the skills needed to collaborate.

Learning Goals:
  • Students will be able to relate to their own field and to other departments within Mason Gross. They will have access to a network of potential peer collaborators.
  • Students will be able to conceptualize a variety of possible multimedia collaborations. They will gain the skills necessary to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Students will be able to reflect critically upon artwork in disciplines other than their own.
