At the forefront of feminist research for over 30 years, the Institute for Research on Women (IRW) advances cutting-edge, interdisciplinary scholarship on gender and women. Affiliates include 900 faculty, graduate students, and advanced undergraduates drawn from a wide range of disciplines on all three Rutgers University campuses. Each year, the IRW holds a thematically-based Distinguished Lecture Series featuring feminist scholars and activists from Rutgers and other universities, convenes a weekly interdisciplinary research seminar for select faculty and graduate students, and hosts top visiting scholars from the U.S. and abroad as part of its Global Scholars Program. The IRW coordinates an Undergraduate Learning Community to introduce undergraduates to the work of leading feminist scholars, enabling participants to work with faculty mentors to create their own feminist research projects.
