Brenna H. Bry

Ph.D., Missouri

Findings from Brenna H. Bry's ongoing studies of risk and protective factors, and other correlates have supported the development and continuing evaluation of two manualized and preventive interventions: the school-based Behavioral Monitoring and Reinforcement Program (BMRP) and Achievement Mentoring Program. Because the former program was designated as an effective strategy by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools program and the U.S. Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Dr. Bry consults frequently with schools and agencies adopting the program. The empirical bases and implementation for BMRP are covered in her book with Dr. Nancy Boyd-Franklin, Reaching Out in Family Therapy: Home-Based, School, and Community Interventions.
